Getting started as a tutor

Signing up as a tutor or expert

No account yet: go to “Become a tutor or expert” → “Sign up as a tutor — free”. Already a learner: click “Start as a tutor / expert” on that page to use your current account.

There are no sign-up or monthly fees. Zasu only takes a commission on completed lessons.

What's the difference between a tutor and an expert?

Tutors teach school subjects, languages and exam preparation. Experts consult in professional fields such as psychology, law, tax and accounting, nutrition… One account can work on both sides; the type follows the subjects or fields you list.

Some expert fields require a professional licence before the program is approved.

What does my profile need to be approved?

A clear profile photo, your name, an introduction (at least 100 characters), languages, education, experience and every field marked * on the Profile page. Upload degrees and certificates to be verified and move up a level.

Click “Save & submit profile” to send it for review; Zasu reviews within about 24–48 hours. After approval, changes to public content are reviewed again before they appear — meanwhile your public page keeps showing the previous version.

How do I install the Zasu app on my phone?

Zasu is a web app: nothing to download from the App Store or Google Play. Add izasu.com to your home screen and you get an icon that opens like an app, one-tap access to the classroom, and notifications for new bookings, lesson reminders, postponed or cancelled lessons, profile approval and withdrawals even when the site is closed.

Android (Chrome): open izasu.com and sign in → tap the three-dot (⋮) button in the top-right corner → choose “Add to Home screen” (some phones say “Install app” or “Install shortcut”) → tap Add / Install.

iPhone (Safari): open izasu.com in Safari and sign in → tap the Share button (square with an arrow) in the bottom bar → scroll down and choose “Add to Home Screen” → tap Add. This only works in Safari; Chrome on iPhone has no such option.

If you opened Zasu from a link inside Zalo, Facebook or Messenger, installing is not possible there: tap the three-dot (...) button in the corner, choose “Open in browser”, then follow the steps above.

After installing, open Zasu from the home-screen icon and allow notifications when asked (or go to Settings › App & notifications). Without the app everything still works in the browser, you just will not get push notifications.

Subjects, programs & pricing

Adding subjects and programs

On your Profile page, add up to 2 subjects and set a base price for a 50-minute lesson (30,000₫ – 5,000,000₫). Within each subject, choose the programs you teach (e.g. IELTS, Grade 9 Math…). Programs use the base price or their own price.

Each new program is reviewed by Zasu before learners can see it. Some exam-prep programs require a matching certificate (e.g. IELTS 7.0 or higher).

📘 See the illustrated guide →

Setting up trial lessons

You can offer a free 15-minute trial (tick “Offer a free 15' trial in this subject” under your subjects) and set a paid 50-minute trial price — always lower than your regular price. Each learner can trial with you only once.

Schedule & lessons

Setting availability and time off

On your “Tutor profile” page, add weekly free time slots — learners can only book within them, at any 30-minute mark (19:00, 19:30…); each lesson takes 60 minutes including a 10-minute break. Going away? Add time off (up to 90 days each) to block your calendar. The “Teaching calendar” page shows all your booked lessons.

Also on your Tutor profile page, the booking rules let you set a minimum notice period (1 to 48 hours) so nobody books too close to the start. If you're busy for a while, you can hide your profile from search and show it again at any time.

📘 See the illustrated guide →

Cancelling or rescheduling a lesson

At least 8 hours before: you can cancel and the learner is always refunded 100%, but each cancellation counts against you. In the last 8 hours: you can't cancel, only propose a new time, and the lesson moves only if the learner accepts.

📘 See the illustrated guide →

What if the learner doesn't show up?

15 minutes after the start, if you are in the classroom, the lesson page shows a no-show button. Click “Report student no-show”; the learner has 24 hours after the end time to dispute. If the learner is confirmed absent, you receive 70% of the lesson price.

A learner who joined the classroom can't be marked absent — the system relies on real attendance.

Lesson notes and homework

On the lesson page (in progress or finished) you can write notes and assign homework. The learner is notified when new homework arrives.

Running group classes

How do I open a group class? What does Zasu review?

Go to Tutor channel › Group classes › Open a class and fill in 3 steps: content (an approved program, title, description, audience), schedule (ongoing or full course, 50/80/110-minute sessions, weekly days and times — clashes with your 1-on-1 bookings are flagged immediately), price and seats (2–5 seats, suggested 40–60% of your 1-on-1 rate per seat; you see an income estimate right away).

Each tutor may run up to 3 classes at a time. Zasu reviews every class, usually within one business day; once approved it appears on the Group classes page and your profile, price / schedule / seats are locked, and you can still edit the description and trial setting.

Zasu also creates curated classes and invites a suitable tutor; you have 48 hours to accept. Commission is 15%, the same as 1-on-1.

Cancellation, no-show, time-off and pause rules for group classes

Group sessions cannot be rescheduled, only cancelled. Cancelling 8+ hours ahead counts 0.5 fault; under 8 hours 1 fault; not showing up 1.5 faults. Faults add to your 1-on-1 faults over 30 days (5 faults suspends the account).

A session you do not teach is not deducted from learners' packs and is not refunded to wallets: their remaining sessions roll over. A learner who loses 3 or more sessions within one pack may leave with a refund, and the class is flagged for Zasu review.

Time off declared 8+ hours ahead: the session is cancelled automatically with 0 faults. On Zasu public holidays classes are off by default (tick 'Teach on holidays' to keep teaching). You may pause a class for 1–8 weeks, at most once every 8 weeks; learners keep their sessions, and a pause of 2 weeks or more lets anyone leave with a refund.

You are paid per session 24 hours after it ends (the dispute window), for every learner with sessions left in their pack — absent learners still count.

Earnings & withdrawals

How much commission does Zasu take?

15% on regular lessons, 50% on paid trials and 0% on free trials. No sign-up or monthly fees. When a learner doesn't show up, you receive 70% of that lesson's price.

When does money reach my wallet?

As soon as the lesson is confirmed as completed: when the learner presses “Confirm lesson completed”, or automatically 24 hours after the lesson ends if the learner hasn't disputed. Lessons under dispute are held until Zasu resolves them.

Withdrawing to my bank

In the Tutor channel, once your balance reaches 500,000₫, enter a bank account in your own name and the amount (minimum 100,000₫) to create a withdrawal. Only one request can be pending at a time; Zasu usually transfers within about 7–10 business days and notifies you when it's done.

📘 See the illustrated guide →

Can I use my earnings to book lessons with other tutors?

Yes. Each account has one wallet — use your balance to book lessons like a learner, and top up more via “Top up wallet”.

Income tax

You are responsible for declaring and settling the taxes on your income with the tax authority under the laws of your country of residence. Where a competent authority so requires, Zasu will withhold, declare or provide information in accordance with that requirement and let you know.

Levels, badges & rules

Tutor and expert levels

There are 3 levels: Tutor (approved profile), Professional tutor (automatic once a teaching qualification or professional licence is verified) and Premium tutor (a Zasu-verified achievement: academic prize (3rd at provincial level or above), valedictorian / top standardized score, very high international certificate, gifted-school alumnus, senior teacher, master’s degree or higher, top-university graduate with distinction, scholarship, senior professional position / licence). Experts have matching levels. Identity-verified accounts get a blue tick.

📘 See the illustrated guide →

Badges and search ranking

Badges are awarded automatically for teaching quality (lessons taught, ratings, reply rate, returning learners…) and re-evaluated daily. Your level, badges, reviews and schedule reliability together decide your ranking in search.

📘 See the illustrated guide →

Why was my profile suspended?

Cancellations, tutor no-shows and lessons where both sides are absent all count against you. Repeated faults within 30 days lower your ranking and can suspend your profile automatically. Contact support@izasu.com to have it reviewed.

Off-platform dealings

All lessons and payments with learners must go through Zasu. Sharing phone numbers, emails or social media to teach outside the platform breaches the Terms and can lead to account suspension; messages with contact details are blocked automatically.
