Go to Tutor hub → ✏️ Profile, programs & availability (or account menu → Profile). The Tutor profile page has 4 sections; this guide covers section 1 · Introduction.
The completeness bar
At the top of the page is the Profile completeness bar with 11 required items (the fields marked with a red *). Each item turns into a green ✓ once it's done. You can only submit for review at 100%.
Filling in section 1
Step 1
1.1 Personal details and profile photo
Fill in your first and middle names, last name, phone number, nationality and accent (Northern / Central / Southern — only used for learners' filters, not shown on your profile). Your email is also your login email; if you change it, you have to click the confirmation link Zasu sends to the new address.
Click Upload profile photo / Change profile photo, drag the frame and the zoom slider so your face is centred, then click Crop & save. Max 5 MB; a straight-on, clear shot of your face on a light background. A profile photo is required — the default letter avatar does not count, and without a real photo you can't submit for review.
Step 2
1.2 Details learners filter & compare by
Required: Current occupation, Academic title / degree (if you're a student who hasn't graduated yet, choose the occupation University student and leave the degree empty) and Major / field of study (type it or pick a suggestion). These three show right under your name on your tutor card.
Optional: gender, birthday (only Zasu sees it, never public), years of teaching, whether you take intensive courses, teaching style (up to 3).
This part takes effect as soon as you save, except academic title / degree and major, which need Zasu's review.
Step 3
1.3 Profile headline, About yourself and Intro video
The headline is the first line learners see on your tutor card — state a concrete strength (e.g. “IELTS 8.0 · 7 years of exam prep”).
The introduction needs at least 100 characters: who you teach, how you teach, and what learners achieve.
Video (optional): YouTube links only. New profiles come pre-filled with Zasu's intro video — replacing it with your own video gets you more learners. Film in landscape, with good lighting and clear sound.
Step 4
1.4 Languages
One language per row, with your level; click + Add language to add a row.
Step 5
1.5 Education, degrees & certificates — with files for verification
List your education, one item per row. In each box (degrees, teaching qualifications, language certificates, professional licences) click + Add file to upload a photo or PDF — max 5 MB per file, 10 files per type. For certificates, also fill in the name, score / level and year issued.
Only you and Zasu can see the files. Each file has a status: Awaiting verification, Verified or Rejected. Verified certificates show a ✓ on your profile and unlock programs that require a certificate.
Step 6
1.6 Relevant experience
One experience per row, with dates; attach proof if you have it (contracts, employment confirmation…). Optional, but it makes your profile stand out.
Step 7
1.7 Achievements — the basis for the Premium tutor rank
In the yellow 💎 Achievements for the Premium tutor / Premium expert rank box: choose the achievement type (academic prize from 3rd at provincial level up, valedictorian / high standardized test score, very high international certificate, gifted-school alumnus, senior teacher, master's degree or higher, top-university graduate with distinction, scholarship, senior professional position / licence…), then enter the name, year, issuing body and upload proof.
Zasu verifies each achievement. With at least one verified qualifying achievement and verified identity (section 1.8), your profile automatically moves up to 💎 Premium tutor; verified achievements are shown with their year on your card and profile.
Achievements outside these types go in the Other achievements (not ranked) box, with files if you have them.
Step 8
1.8 CV and identity document
Upload both sides of your national ID card or the photo page of your passport. Only admins authorised to verify identities can see it; it's never public. Once verified, your profile shows ✔ ID verified (which adds ranking points) — and this is a requirement for the Premium rank. Attach a CV too if you have one.
Step 9
1.9 Free trial lesson, then click Save section 1
Tick Enable the free 15-minute trial if you want to meet new learners this way — your profile gets the ⚡ badge and is more likely to be picked.
Click Save section 1 to save. While you have unsaved changes, a reminder with a save button always shows in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
