Manage group classes & teach group sessions

Track learners, cancel a session, pause or close a class, set and review homework per session, and enter the group classroom.

⏱ 5 min read🗓 Updated 22/10/2026

The Group classes card in the Tutor hub shows how many classes are active (up to 3) and the next session. Press Manage group classes → choose a class to open its management page.

The class management page

At the top: class status, schedule, price, class size, Faults in 30 days (group) and the amount you have earned from the class. The left column has Learners (packs bought, sessions remaining, auto-renew) and Description & trial; the right column has Upcoming sessions and Past sessions (14 days).

  1. Step 1

Cancel a session: press Cancel this session ③ on that session, enter a reason, press Confirm cancellation

Learners do not lose the session — the credit rolls over to the next one. Group sessions cannot be rescheduled, only cancelled.

Faults: cancelling 8+ hours ahead = 0.5 fault, later = 1 faults, not showing up = 1.5 faults. Cancelling 3 sessions within one pack puts the class under Zasu review.

Know about a busy day in advance? Declare Time off in your profile at least 8 hours ahead: group sessions in that period are cancelled automatically with 0 faults.

  2. Step 2

Pause a class: press Pause class, choose the start and end dates, Confirm pause ①

1–8 weeks, at most once every 8 weeks. Declare it at least 8 hours before the first affected session and no fault is counted. Learners keep their sessions; for a pause of 2 weeks or more, learners may leave the class with a refund. The class resumes automatically on the set date, or press Resume now.

  3. Step 3

Close a class for good: press Close class ②, enter a reason, Confirm close

All upcoming sessions are cancelled and learners get all unused sessions refunded to their wallet. This cannot be undone. A closed full-course class has a Start a new course (clone) button to reopen it with a new start date.

  4. Step 4

Remove a learner: press Remove from class next to their name, enter a reason, Confirm

The learner is refunded for unused sessions; people on the waitlist are notified that a seat is free.

Teaching a group session

  1. Step 1

Press the session time under Upcoming sessions (or Join next session in the Tutor hub)

The room opens 5 minutes early and works like a 1-on-1 room (see The classroom), plus a Mute all button to keep order — learners can unmute themselves. Group rooms have no Notes panel.

The room closes 10 minutes after you leave for good or 15 minutes after the end time; while you and at least one learner are still in, it can run up to 30 minutes over.

  2. Step 2

Set homework in the Homework for this session block: write the Task, choose a due date, attach files → Save homework ①

You can set it at any time (before, during or after the session). All learners in the class are notified. Task files: images, PDF, Word, 5 MB, up to 5 files.

  3. Step 3

Review work under Submissions: read each learner's work, write feedback → Send feedback ②

Each learner's submission and files are visible only to you and that learner. You get a “📬 … submitted homework” notification when new work comes in.

How money reaches your wallet

  • Learners prepay for the pack / course; Zasu holds the money and pays you per session taught.
  • For each session where your attendance is recorded, every learner with sessions left in their pack is charged 1 session (including those who were absent), and you receive the seat price × number of learners, minus 15% commission.
  • Money is settled 24 hours after the session (the learners' dispute window). A dispute from one learner only holds back that learner's share.
